Lunges can be very effective in working the legs, glutes and core. Proper form is extremely important to ensure knee safety! Be sure you are doing them correctly! Step out as far as you can with one leg. Keep your back heel up the entire time. While pushing through the heel in the front, lower your body down until your back knee is as close to the floor as you can get, then go back up to start position. Do not go forward with your lunge. Keep your front knee behind your front toes at all times. This will save your knees! The closer to the floor you lower, the harder it is.... Challenge yourself! Watch the video to see proper form! You can also add weight to lunges to increase intensity and strength. Good luck!
