They are fun, they are challenging and AWESOME! You could even do them while your kids are at the park on the seesaw! (Do they still have seesaws?) Check out this one that take lunges to the next step...we work on balance at the same time! Start in standing position. Step out into a front lunge (keep knee behind the toes) and then push off with that front foot and go directly into a back lunge. Try to balance and NOT put that foot down while you go into the back lunge. If you need to, that's fine, just work towards that goal! From the back lunge, push off with that back foot and go directly back into a front lunge. Repeat. Stay on the same side for your reps and then switch sides.
