Special guidelines to consider.
Although the InBody provides accurate and precise results for the majority of users, certain conditions may skew body composition results or users may not be recommended to test based on their unique circumstances.
Skewed Results:
- Individuals on their menstrual cycle (changes to body water)
- Individuals with breast implants (increases overall body fat percentages, but will be consistent for tracking changes)
- Individuals with metal implants (increases lean mass readings, but will be consistent for tracking changes)
Not recommended:
- Pregnant women (changes in bodily fluids)
- Individuals with pacemakers (without prior approval) (stents are ok)
- Amputees/Individuals who are unable to stand

- Retest under similar conditions in order to effectively track progress
- Maintain the same conditions for subsequent tests (ie, tests taken in the morning)
- Maintain your normal fluid intake the day before
- Do not consume alcohol or excess caffeine for at least 24 hrs.
- Do not eat or exercise for at least 3 hours
- Do not use a shower or a sauna
- Do not use lotion or ointments on your hands and feet
- Do not drink anything at least 45 minutes
- Retest under similar conditions in order to effectively track progress
- Maintain the same conditions for subsequent tests (ie, tests taken in the morning)
- Maintain your normal fluid intake the day before
